Genesis Wireless uses radio frequency to transmit signal from a broadcast tower to the customer site.

Anyone interested in service is welcomed to call our office to have their address mapped out (view Coverage Map for general locations). Using a mapping program, our staff looks at distance, elevation levels, and tree coverage to determine which type of radio and antenna system would be used.

The customer's site needs 3 basic things to connect to our network: a radio, antenna and Ethernet cable.

A very typical customer installation is: a roof-mounted tripod with a 10' mast inside it. At the top of the mast is where the radio and antenna are attached. The Ethernet cable is run from the radio, down the mast, and into the building where it is plugged into a power adapter.

From the power adapter, a smaller Ethernet (or patch) cable plugs directly into a single computer, or into a router if desiring to connecting multiple devices. (Genesis Wireless does not sell routers. Please check with your local Radio Shack, Best Buy, Office Max, etc. for router specifications and recommendations).

Shown here is a typical outdoor rooftop setup with the tripod, mast, radio, antenna (which measures approximately 3' x 2') and Ethernet cable (the standard 10' mast we had to cut down a bit...didn't work so great inside the office!)

The radio is mounted just behind the antenna.

Customers may choose to install the equipment themselves, or may have one of our technicians install the system.

Self-installation customers will be directed toward the radio, antenna and Ethernet cable pricing listed below:
